It’s not surprising that the next major release of Microsoft Exchange (Version 12, which is due in 2007) is to be available in a 64-bit variant. What is surprising is Microsoft’s recent announcement that there would be no 32-bit variant. In this Ferris Brief, we examine some of the drivers that we believe led to Microsoft’s decision:
