A Profusion of Conversations

Electronically, we make utterances in many places. Within our organization, for example, we say things in word processing documents, spreadsheets, emails, and teamspaces. Very gradually, search is making it easier to track down what we’ve said, and what others have said, within our organization.

The blogosphere is a recent and important external place for making utterances. Right now, it’s very hard to keep track of blog conversations. To track 100 conversations, you have to go to 100 separate places.

CoComment is a service that hopes to offer relief. It provides a single place to track your conversations. It also furnishes an easy way for read-only Web sites to let visitors make comments. The company’s vision is ultimately to track conversations in many different data structures, and to hopefully become a primary portal for posting comments about anything, anywhere.
