Chris Williams
Chris Williams is a friend of Ferris Research, and has over 15 years of experience in software marketing and management, from small startup companies to industry-leader Microsoft. For the last ten years, he has concentrated on messaging products and services. At Ferris, Chris focuses on spam and email security, systems management, and Microsoft Exchange-focused deployments and migrations.
Chris was the founder of Sirana Software, which focused on messaging management and reporting solutions. Sirana was acquired by NetIQ in 2000. At NetIQ, Chris was responsible for the company\’s email products and led the company\’s acquisition of Marshal Software, an email security firm.
Before founding Sirana, Chris was at Microsoft on the Exchange product team for six years and launched the Exchange 4.0, 5.0, and 5.5 releases. In his last role as a senior product planner, Chris was responsible for market planning and strategy for Exchange 2000.
He holds a master\’s degree in business administration from the Darden School at the University of Virginia and a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Washington. He currently lives in Redmond, Washington.
